- Separate concept gaps from execution mistakes.
- Review correct guesses as well as wrong answers.
- Finish with a short correction plan and a fresh reattempt.
Record the conditions before judging the score
Note the paper, time limit, interruptions and topics you have already studied. Scores from different papers may not be directly comparable.
If you paused the test or used notes, record that honestly; the session can still be useful practice, but it measures something different from an uninterrupted attempt. Use the official examination pattern when selecting an appropriate practice format.
Sort questions into meaningful groups
Create four groups: correct and confident, correct but uncertain, attempted incorrectly, and unattempted. The uncertain group matters because a lucky answer can hide a gap.
For wrong answers, label the cause: missing concept, misunderstood question, calculation error, poor recall or a rushed choice. For unattempted questions, distinguish lack of knowledge from a deliberate time-management decision.

Check your time choices
Identify questions on which you spent substantial time without making progress. Consider what signal could have told you to move on earlier.
Also look for easier questions you missed because time ran out. The aim is not to apply a rigid time allowance to every question.
It is to recognise when an approach is no longer productive and make a deliberate choice about returning later.
Turn the review into a small correction plan
Choose a few recurring issues rather than rewriting the whole syllabus. For a concept gap, revisit the explanation and solve a small range of fresh problems.
For a reading mistake, practise identifying the actual instruction before solving. For recall gaps, use a short retrieval exercise.
Give each action a place in your next study week so the review results in changed practice rather than another file you never open.
Reattempt without memorising the solution
After a suitable interval, try a comparable question without looking at the earlier answer. Explain why the method works and why alternative options do not.
If you can only reproduce the exact worked solution, the underlying gap may remain. Track repeated error types across several sessions.
Share a concise pattern with a teacher or mentor; it is easier to resolve a specific recurring difficulty than a vague statement that your score is low.

Should I take a mock every day?
The frequency should leave enough time for analysis and correction. More tests are not automatically useful if the same misunderstandings remain unresolved.
Should I review questions I got right?
Yes, especially questions answered by guessing or with an unclear method. Confidence and reasoning matter alongside the final answer.
